Make a Budget and Stick to it

March 9th, 2010 by admin

Before we got married, my husband learned a pretty hard lesson with credit cards.  He was swimming in so much credit card debt, he had to turn to his dad to help him out.  Now, he has a budget where he monitors all of our finances on a regular basis.  We use our credit cards just like you would a debit card or a check.  Every time we make a purchase, he records it on our budget like the money is already gone.  That way there is no false sense of how much money you actually have to spend.  We never have any credit card debt this way because my husband pays off our credit cards every time the bill comes.  It simply gets paid off, and we never have to pay more for something because of interest.
