Sweet Deals Too Hard To Pass Up

February 16th, 2010 by admin

A perfectly fine tweed jacket came up for sale in the classifieds. I did not necessarily need it, but I wanted it badly. The Birmingham Post tends to have some of the most magnificent items up for grabs. The prices are right up my alley. I am not a penny pincher, but I do pinch pennies. When a good deal comes along, I find it fits right into my budget for the month. The jacket was not the only item I have purchased from the classifieds and I doubt it will be the last. Thank goodness for the pen and ink.

Mom Happy With Daughter’s Success

January 27th, 2010 by admin

I was devastated when my child’s kindergarten teacher told me that she was not ready to go on the the first grade. She said that her reading level was no where it needed to be to succeed. From a parent’s point of view that was just unacceptable to me. I felt like I had failed my child miserably. The next day I enrolled her in a tutoring program that used the phonics program, which I heard many good things about. My daughter had five months before the school year ended to work on her reading. Before that time came, she was where she needed to be with time to spare.

Makes sense

January 24th, 2010 by admin

I was looking at some south african property for sale online the other night and I have to say that there are some amazing bargains on offer at the moment. For about two years now I have been wanting to buy a holiday home down there as I just love the region, but I had always been priced out of the market. It seems that now I have a realistic chance of being able to purchase a place, which would be amazing. As it is I usually spend about a month out of the year down there and it would be great if I didn’t have to rent a house every time.

A Christian Women’s Forum

January 15th, 2010 by admin

Years ago I was invited to this Christian women’s forum and the women were really nice, but I was really shocked by their discussions and the things they seemed to think jesus christ would expect of them. One woman said that her husband came home one day and announced they would not be using birth control anymore - it was time to have another child. She said, “I admit I was upset with him at first, but I know we are supposed to submit …..” I said, “The scriptures say to submit as he submits to the Lord. Would Jesus Christ tell a woman she is going to have a baby and not ask how she would feel about it?”

How Do You Know What A Good Investment Is?

January 12th, 2010 by admin

Wesley has been interested in the stock market.  He would like to start investing but is not sure which company or companies he would like to invest in.  He has been watching the trends on a couple of companies, but it seems that it is never consistent.  He has decided to call a broker and find out if by watching the trends would it help in determining if investing in the stock market is the right thing to do. Both companies have been in business for a long time and has had a consistent profit until recently.  He is going to talk with the broker as soon as possible.

A Halloween Party Babysitter

December 14th, 2009 by admin

My gay mormon friend wonders if I should be hiring this babysitter for the Halloween party I’m going to because she’s a little young and maybe immature. My kids are so old, I don’t think it will be an issue. I just need to have someone here with my daughter, but my boys are pros at taking care of her. My gay mormon friend suggested I maybe hire a 16 year old instead who is better with babies, but my daughter will be going to sleep very soon after we leave. And I’ll have my son call if there are any problems.
