Don’t Let Insomnia Rule Your Life

I’ve wrestled with the sleepless nights and feeling like the waking dead during the day. It’s horrible. No one can truly live this way. I want to give a couple of ideas for combating the problem of insomnia. First, there’s a number of physiological things that will help your body want sleep and be able to shut down. Some vigorous exercise (I know it sounds rough when you’re tired, but push through for half an hour or so and you’ll thank me later), some good relaxing tea (I prefer organic chamomile and anything with hops in it) and some soothing music. Practicing things like yoga or tai chi can also be beneficial. Second, you’ve got to look at where you’re at with honesty. A lot of times the inability to sleep is caused by an unclear conscience. Are you at odds with yourself? Sometimes it can be tough to ask ourselves these questions, but ultimately, they’re usually the source of our problems. I wish you well.
