Many people are hesitant to use carbonized bamboo flooring because they are not sure if it is stronger or weaker than regular bamboo flooring. The fact is, carbonized bamboo flooring is about 30% softer than regular bamboo. This is because of the carbonization process that it is subjected to. However, the surface is treated with aluminum oxide before being declared ready for use. This is a finish that is used in several pre-finished flooring products and which makes the flooring hardier and capable of taking a lot of wear and tear. This aluminum oxide finish gives the carbonized flooring an innate ability to stand up to regular wear.
